Perhaps the most attractive place to live in Lisbon is the Marquis of Pombal Square. Despite the area is densely built up, it is green, cosy and extremely comfortable for tourists. The square offers good transport links, a large number of hotels and other accommodation options for any budget. In addition, the main shopping artery of Lisbon begins here.

Avenida da Liberdade may remind you of the Paris boulevards, but with a local flavour. The avenue is quite green, but also noisy, so pay attention to the reviews when choosing a hotel in this area.

Avenida da Liberdade offers many options for shopping and various places to eat. You can get to the Old Town on foot (from the central part of the avenue - in about half an hour) or by subway.

One more noteworthy area is located around the Praça de Entrecampos. The main advantage of this neighbourhood is its proximity to the railway station. There are a lot of public transport stops here, in particular, you can catch the bus that will take you to the airport in 10-12 minutes.

The Old Town hotels are authentic and boast beautiful views of the city and the bay. Location of the area is it’s main plus - the castle and all the city attractions are in walking distance, there is a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, and street food. Possible disadvantages include the high prices for hotels and the crowds of tourists. What is more, it is not easy to get to the hotels located on the hill on foot.
